“It is my desire to use my combined education and experience, including personal tragedy, to help guide people to see that there is more to life than they can most immediately identify. Through my work today, I strive to help youth and women of all ages to reach beyond the barriers they perceive and instead begin Transcending to New Futures.”

“Since retiring from a career as an engineer, I am concentrating on my vocation as a speaker, coach, and author. I was born and raised in New Mexico and my Hispanic roots go back 400 years in New Mexico. I am married with six children in a blended family, and we have seven grandchildren. I have mentored many people as a professor, senior engineer and leadership coach. I am an active member of organizations that advocate for gun safety and juvenile justice. I am a Georgetown trained leadership coach and a Fellow of the INCOSE, the largest International Systems Engineering Professional Organization. I hold a Ph.D., M.S., and B.S. in Electrical and Computer Engineering and an M.S. in Computer Science.”
- Regina M Griego
A tragic story of generational trauma set in the rich cultural background of New Mexico. This memoir is both a warning and a call to action for families, communities, and our nation. This is a story of courage and conviction as well as love, compassion, and hope. The story details the failure of not only the Juvenile Justice System, but many other systems that undergird families and society including gun safety.

“In Sins of the System, Regina courageously shares her family's heart-wrenching story of generational trauma, mental health struggles and gun violence with grace, honesty and compassion. Her journey from grieving aunt to passionate advocate is truly inspiring. Regina is working to ensure no other family has to endure the pain that hers has, and through her words, she offers hope for a brighter future, even among the many challenges some families and children in our country face.”
