Regina’s Bio

“I’ve loved math since I was a child. The computer fascinated me when I took programming in high school. So many teachers, professors, and others encouraged me. I made it my mission to help others in a similar way. My greatest joy has been to work with so many people as a teacher, professor, leader, coach, and mentor. I love working with people to solve problems of all kinds and to help them find their personal and professional ah-ha moments. I love to see the light go on in them spiritually, emotionally, or intellectually.”

— Regina Griego

Regina started out professionally utilizing her Master’s degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering at Sandia National Laboratories on national security systems. She eventually earned her Ph.D. at New Mexico State University in Electrical and Computer Engineering with an emphasis on Requirements Engineering.

During her time as an engineering professional, Regina worked to pull teams together to solve complex problems that required consistent communication and openness to new ideas. As part of that path, Regina became a teacher, mentor, and leadership coach becoming a Georgetown trained coach and a Fellow of the INCOSE, the largest International Systems Engineering Professional Organization. She holds a Ph.D., M.S., and B.S. in Electrical and Computer Engineering and an M.S. in Computer Science.

Recognizing that it was, and still is, highly unusual for a woman, especially a Hispanic woman, to become an engineer, Regina developed the desire to use her talents to help people of all ages learn how to break down barriers and transcend to unimagined futures. Since retiring from engineering, Regina is concentrating on her vocation as an author, speaker, and coach. She has been writing poetry since high school, mostly during times of trouble and transition. Her work has been featured in a variety of collections, and she is published as an engineer. Born and raised in New Mexico with Hispanic roots that go back 400 years in the state, she is married with six children in a blended family and has seven grandchildren. Regina has coached and mentored many people as a professor, senior engineer, and leadership coach. She is also an active member of organizations that support gun safety and juvenile justice. These organizations work to change laws that support the well-being of children.
